Redge Technologies has been selected as technology partner for Latvian Public Service Media’s new unified audio and video streaming platform.
The contract, worth €2.6 million over three and a half years, will support the development of a modern digital platform spanning web, mobile and smart TV devices.
The project forms part of LPSM’s wider digital transformation strategy as public media organisations across Europe look to strengthen direct relationships with audiences online.
Redge was chosen following a competitive public procurement process that attracted interest from 12 international and regional technology companies. Three companies qualified for full evaluation.
The new platform will be developed gradually, with the first features expected to reach audiences by the end of this year. LPSM will continue to develop its LSM.lv portal separately as a digital news and content platform while the new streaming service is built out for audio and video.
Baiba Zūzena, chairperson of the board of LPSM, said public media’s value was now defined not only by the content it creates, but also by its ability to reach audiences in digital environments.
Redge CEO Przemysław Frasunek said the company would draw on its experience delivering streaming platforms for European broadcasters and public service media.
The agreement strengthens Redge Technologies’ position in the European public media technology market, adding LPSM to its portfolio of broadcaster and operator clients.
