German industry association Deutsche TV-Plattform (DTVP) will bring together broadcasters, technology providers, researchers and media executives in Berlin on 25 June for the seventh edition of its Media Innovation Platform, focusing on the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) across the TV and streaming industry.
The conference, titled “AI as a Game Changer: Efficiency and Value Creation in TV & Streaming”, will explore how AI is already being deployed commercially and where it is generating value in areas including content production, distribution and advertising. The event builds on discussions held during DTVP’s panel at ANGA COM 2026 and aims to provide practical insights into both the opportunities and challenges associated with AI adoption.
Held at the DRIVE Volkswagen Group Forum in central Berlin, the one-day summit will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, case studies, live demonstrations and an interactive fishbowl session designed to encourage audience participation and the exchange of experiences.
Nicole Agudo Berbel, Chair of the DTVP and Managing Director at Seven One Entertainment Group, will open the event. The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Dr Carsten Busch of the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin.
A panel discussion entitled “AI across the value chain: Who stands to gain, and who will be left behind?” will examine the impact of AI on different parts of the media ecosystem. The session will be moderated by Carine Chardon, Managing Director of GFU.
The afternoon programme includes case studies from Amazon Web Services and RTL Deutschland, as well as a presentation from automotive software company CARIAD. A concluding fishbowl discussion will ask whether AI can serve as a catalyst for the TV and streaming sector, featuring representatives from AWS, RTL Deutschland and CARIAD. The session will be moderated by Naomi Schoppa, R&D Project Manager at Fraunhofer FOKUS.
Media journalist Dr Jörn Krieger (Broadband TV News) will moderate the event. Registration is open to both DTVP members and non-members and is free of charge until 12 June.
Founded in 1990, DTVP brings together more than 50 organisations from across the media and technology sectors, including broadcasters, infrastructure operators, device manufacturers, research institutions and public authorities. The association promotes the development and adoption of open standards for digital television and streaming services across the DACH region.
