Eutelsat has signed a partner agreement with Finnish telecoms infrastructure provider Voimatel to deliver OneWeb low Earth orbit connectivity services across Finland.
Voimatel will integrate Eutelsat’s LEO services into its network solutions, combining satellite and terrestrial connectivity for enterprise and public-sector customers.
The companies said the partnership will support resilient and redundant communications across urban, rural and remote regions, including high northern latitudes and Arctic areas where terrestrial coverage can be limited.
Voimatel provides fixed and wireless network services for telecom operators, utilities and public-sector organisations in Finland.
Eva Bisgaard, President of Eutelsat’s Connectivity Business Unit, said the agreement underlined the growing role of LEO connectivity in supporting critical telecom infrastructure.
Mikko Heinonen, CEO of Voimatel, said Eutelsat’s low-latency satellite services and Arctic coverage would complement the company’s existing infrastructure capabilities.
The agreement adds to Eutelsat’s growing focus on government, enterprise and critical infrastructure customers following its integration of the OneWeb LEO constellation.
