Mediaset Italia is modernising its content supply chain and channel scheduling operations through a new deployment of the Mediagenix platform, as the broadcaster seeks to streamline workflows across its portfolio of linear television channels.

The project, announced by Brussels-based content management specialist, forms part of a wider transformation programme at Mediaset Italia, which is part of pan-European broadcaster MediaForEurope.

As one of Italy’s largest commercial broadcasters, Mediaset manages a substantial portfolio of linear and on-demand services, where scheduling teams must balance editorial priorities, audience demand, rights restrictions and commercial commitments across multiple channels.

The upgraded Mediagenix platform centralises scheduling operations, allowing planners to manage content, programme titles and schedules from a single workflow. The company said the deployment would improve operational efficiency, simplify content management across multiple channels and provide greater scalability as content volumes continue to grow.

The project reflects a wider trend across the broadcasting industry, where media companies are increasingly modernising legacy scheduling systems as they adapt to multi-platform distribution and larger content libraries.

Tim Goff, Vice President of Scheduling and Curation at Mediagenix, said broadcasters are increasingly looking to move away from manual schedule construction towards more intelligent and automated workflow management.

“The most significant shift we see across the industry right now is broadcasters wanting to move away from building schedules manually to governing them intelligently,” he said.

While the current deployment focuses on Mediaset’s linear channel operations, the project is designed to create a more scalable foundation for future channel optimisation and broader content supply chain management.

The agreement further strengthens Mediagenix’s presence among major European broadcasters, as media companies continue investing in technology platforms designed to support increasingly complex content operations across both traditional television and streaming services.
