German football channel DFB.TV has expanded its coverage of the FIFA Football World Cup 2026, securing a highlights rights package from Deutsche Telekom and launching daily live reporting around the German national team as the tournament gets underway.
The pay-TV channel, which launched on 22 May, has acquired a comprehensive World Cup highlights package from TV rights holder Telekom which will show all matches live on its MagentaTV platform. The agreement includes 104 editorially produced match highlight clips, more than 300 near-live key match moments and selected MagentaTV studio content, interviews and expert analysis.
In addition to the licensed content, DFB.TV will provide daily original coverage from the German camp, including live links to its newly established studio in Hamburg. Reporting will feature content from the team’s base camp in Winston-Salem and the German House of Soccer in New York City, supplemented by FIFA footage.
The channel is also airing classic World Cup matches involving Germany as part of its tournament programming.
DFB.TV has further developed partnerships with commercial sponsors during the competition. Among the new formats is the daily DFB World Cup News presented by EDEKA, combining football coverage with branded content integrations. Advertising partners during the tournament include Adidas, Volkswagen, Zalando and Aral.
“The positive excitement currently being felt by our players in the United States is also being shared by the DFB.TV team. With our own DFB content and the additional rights we have acquired, we have created excellent editorial conditions for a high-quality complementary World Cup offering and a great experience for football fans across Germany,” said Kay Dammholz, Managing Director of DFB.TV and Director of Media Rights at the German Football Association (DFB).
The broadcaster has also expanded distribution ahead of the tournament. DFB.TV is now available via its DFB.TV+ app as well as on DAZN, HD+, Sky Deutschland/WOW, Vodafone Deutschland, Zattoo and Ocilion.
Gisbert Wundram, Managing Director of DFB.TV and Managing Director of Sportainment Media Group, added: “Exactly three days before the opening match, we completed our new studio in Hamburg, from which we will provide extensive daily coverage of the national team. Together with our distribution partners, we are very much looking forward to the coming weeks.”
The DFB.TV+ platform has also been expanded. The app is now available in the Apple App Store and can additionally be accessed on Samsung TV and Android TV devices, as well as through a web browser at https://watch.dfbtvplus.de.
