Bitmovin has partnered with Simplestream and Xperi to help broadcasters, operators and streaming providers launch services more easily on TiVo OS-powered smart TVs and connected devices.

The collaboration combines Simplestream’s OTT management and application platform with Bitmovin’s video playback technology, creating an integrated solution designed to reduce the complexity of bringing services to TiVo OS.

The companies said the joint platform will provide media organisations with a streamlined route to deployment while maintaining consistent playback performance across devices. It also supports a range of monetisation options, including pre-roll and pause advertising, alongside accessibility features.

As part of the partnership, TiVo OS has been integrated into Bitmovin’s automated testing framework, which uses AI-driven analysis to process more than one million tests each week. The system is designed to identify playback issues more quickly and improve quality assurance across supported devices.

Ashley Reynolds-Horne, Technical Director at Simplestream, said the partnership would help customers modernise OTT delivery while reducing integration complexity.

“By combining Simplestream’s end-to-end platform capabilities with Bitmovin’s proven playback technology, we’re enabling media companies and operators to deliver reliable, scalable streaming experiences while unlocking new opportunities for monetisation and service growth,” he said.

James Varndell, Senior Director of Product Management at Bitmovin, said support for TiVo OS would help customers reach a growing audience.

“Video providers want their service to be accessible by as many viewers as possible including those running TiVo OS, which is rapidly gaining traction,” he said.

Xperi’s Stephane David, Senior Director of Content Partnerships and Business Development EMEA, said the partnership would make it easier for streaming services to launch on the platform while maintaining a high-quality viewing experience.

Developed by Xperi, TiVo OS is a content-focused smart TV operating system designed to improve content discovery across live television and streaming services. The platform is now available on smart TVs from several manufacturers as well as selected set-top boxes.

Bitmovin first announced support for TiVo OS in October 2025. The latest agreement extends that relationship by providing a more complete deployment and management framework for content providers seeking distribution on the platform.
