The enthusiasm for Starlink-based connectivity on board the world’s major airlines seems to be unstoppable. Starlink has now partnered with 41 airlines worldwide, covering more than 7,000 aircraft under installation or contract.

The latest to be signed up is Israel’s El Al. The airline will start installs in 2027. The Israeli airline will offer the service free of charge to passengers, subject to conditions, enabling browsing, streaming, remote work, and other digital services during flights.

El Al’s CEO Dina Ben Tal Ganancia, commented: “We continue to invest in upgrading the flight experience and in the most advanced products for our customers. The integration of Starlink technology into El Al aircraft is a significant step forward, allowing customers to stay connected in the air, enjoy live streaming and continue working and communicating smoothly and without interruption.”

However, it is worth stressing that while a contract might have been signed there is frequently a considerable delay in getting a complete fleet equipped with Starlink antennas.
