EE has belatedly added Disney+ to its TV platform, giving customers direct access to the streaming service through its EE TV Box Pro and EE TV Box Edge devices.
The move brings Disney’s streaming catalogue, including content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Hulu, FX and ESPN, into EE’s growing aggregation platform as the operator continues to position EE TV as a central destination for both live and on-demand entertainment.
Subscribers can access Disney+ through a dedicated app on EE TV devices, with billing managed directly by Disney. Available subscription options include Disney+ Standard with Ads (£5.99 per month), Disney+ Standard (£9.99 per month or £99.90 annually) and Disney+ Premium (£14.99 per month or £149.90 annually).
Luciano Oliveira, Director of Product, Home & TV at EE, said: “It’s our goal to make EE TV a go-to destination for great entertainment, and adding the Disney+ app reinforces that by bringing an even broader mix of much-loved content to the platform. From big new releases to iconic series and timeless family favourites, it gives customers more of what they love, all in one place.”
The addition of Disney+ strengthens EE’s content aggregation strategy, which has seen the operator steadily expand the range of streaming services available through its TV platform. The move follows similar efforts by UK pay-TV operators to position themselves as content hubs as consumers increasingly combine multiple subscription streaming services alongside traditional television viewing.
HBO remains missing from the EE line-up, which does include Netflix, Prime Video, Discovery+, Apple TV and Paramount+. Broadcaster VOD is also available.
