German industry association Deutsche TV-Plattform (DTVP) has added Simply.TV as a new member, bringing the metadata specialist into its industry network focused on the future of television and streaming in the DACH region.

Founded in 2019 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Simply.TV provides TV and streaming metadata services and combines AI-driven automation with editorial workflows. According to the company, its services are used across more than 300 platforms in over 50 countries, including customers in the German-speaking market.

“We are pleased to welcome Simply.TV as a new member of the DTVP. Simply.TV’s expertise will enrich our industry network,” said Nicole Ludwig, Managing Director of DTVP.

Daniel Rühmann, CXO and Co-Founder of Simply.TV, added: “The DACH market is undergoing a real transformation. Streaming, AI and changing viewing habits are turning the entire content discovery chain upside down. The DTVP brings together exactly the stakeholders that can shape this change collectively. We look forward to contributing our experience and expertise to this work.”

The rise of streaming is driving demand for richer and more sophisticated metadata, including accurate electronic programme guide (EPG) information, contextual keywords and frame-level content markers. According to the DTVP, artificial intelligence is also playing an increasingly significant role in the TV and streaming sector, with its working groups providing a forum for industry stakeholders to discuss emerging trends and develop common approaches.

Simply.TV will be formally introduced to members at the DTVP’s annual general assembly on 24 June 2026. The following day, the association will host the seventh edition of its Media Innovation Platform conference in Berlin under the theme “AI as a Game Changer: Efficiency and Value Creation in TV & Streaming”.

Simply.TV counts companies including Amazon, PŸUR, 1&1, A1, Vodafone, Salt and ORS among its customers, providing metadata services for EPG, VOD, FAST and streaming platforms.
