Samsung TV Plus has partnered with Red Bull to become the official UK broadcaster of this year’s Red Bull Soapbox Race. Produced by Red Bull Media House, the sold-out race will live stream exclusively on the platform’s Entertainment Hub channel on June 20th and remain available, exclusively on the service, for the next 12 months.
Alongside the live event, Samsung TV Plus will also air 20 episodes of previous Red Bull Soapbox races from across the world – including Holland, Chile, Portugal, Brazil, Tokyo and Finland – showcasing the iconic teams, carts and locations. Standalone episodes featuring previously unseen footage of the fastest runs, genius designs and craziest crashes are also available on demand.
Taking place at London’s Alexandra Palace for the sixth time, the popular Red Bull Soapbox Race sees teams design, build and race their own hand-crafted vehicles. For the first time, Samsung TV Plus will also have its very own team who will be taking on the downhill challenge.
The return to London follows a global resurgence of Red Bull Soapbox Race events, including 10 other editions of the race across the world, from Brazil to LA. The UK last hosted the event in 2024, where 16,000 spectators swarmed the hills of North London to enjoy the spirit that has made Red Bull Soapbox Race a global favorite for nearly 25 years.
Chris Gregory, Head of Content Development at Samsung TV Plus, commented: “As well as being loved by the world over, The Red Bull Soapbox Race has also become something of a British institution, and we’re thrilled to be able to bring it exclusively to audiences, live, across the UK for the first time. Live sport is key for us at Samsung TV Plus, and thanks to this partnership, we’re able to continue to expand our live sports offering. The Red Bull Soapbox has everything – drama, creativity, fun and engineering prowess – and we hope that viewers feel as close to the action as our racing team will on the day.”
