Netflix and TF1 Group have officially launched their distribution partnership in France, bringing TF1’s live channels and streaming service directly into the Netflix user experience.
From June 19, Netflix subscribers in France can access content from TF1+ alongside live streams of TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films and rolling news channel LCI. The agreement marks the first partnership of its kind for Netflix with a major free-to-air broadcaster, creating a fully integrated experience within the streaming platform.
TF1 content is incorporated into Netflix’s interface and recommendation engine, appearing within features such as Continue Watching, My List and Top 10 rankings. Subscribers can access a broad range of programming, including daily dramas Demain nous appartient and Ici tout commence, entertainment formats Koh-Lanta, Secret Story and Dancing with the Stars, as well as major live sporting events including Rugby Nations Championship matches and French national football team fixtures, excluding FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage.
“People have more entertainment choices than ever, so we have to consistently give them the best variety of TV and films in a seamless and personalized way,” said Greg Peters, Co-CEO of Netflix. “Our partnership with TF1 brings together two strong, complementary content offerings in a world-class user experience, delivering even more entertainment value for our members in France.”
Rodolphe Belmer, CEO of TF1 Group, described the launch as a milestone for both companies. “I’m thrilled to see this groundbreaking partnership with Netflix come to life,” he said. “Netflix subscribers will now get to enjoy the very best of TF1 television like never before — from our news programmes and biggest rugby and football matches to beloved shows like Star Academy and Koh-Lanta, and major drama events like Été 36. By combining our programming with the power of Netflix’s recommendations, we will reach new audiences together and open up new opportunities for our advertisers.”
The partnership reflects the growing trend towards aggregation in the streaming market, as broadcasters seek new routes to audiences and global streaming platforms look to strengthen engagement with local content. The deal gives Netflix subscribers access to one of France’s largest television content libraries while providing TF1 with a powerful new distribution channel.
TF1 Group reaches around 60 million viewers each month through its television channels and serves approximately 38 million users through TF1+. Live channels and sports content are available at launch on connected TV devices, with support for mobile and web viewing expected to follow in the coming months.
