CNN has expanded distribution of its direct-to-consumer streaming service by making CNN All Access available through Prime Video Channels in the United States.

The move gives Amazon customers access to CNN’s subscription offering, which includes 24/7 live streams of CNN’s domestic and international news channels, CNN Originals programming, CNN Films, live events, breaking news coverage and exclusive on-demand content.

The service is priced at $6.99 per month, while subscribers can also sign up to an introductory annual plan priced at $41.99.

Alex MacCallum, Chief Operating Officer at CNN Worldwide, said the launch forms part of the broadcaster’s strategy to make its journalism available across multiple platforms.

“We launched CNN’s All Access subscription to make our journalism and original programming available wherever and however audiences prefer to engage,” said MacCallum. “Expanding to Prime Video is a natural extension of that strategy as we remain committed to providing CNN’s world-class content to as many viewers as possible.”

The agreement further strengthens Prime Video’s position as a major aggregator of subscription streaming services, a model increasingly being adopted by media companies seeking broader distribution and simplified customer acquisition.

Ryan Pirozzi, Head of Prime Video Channels US, said: “We’re excited to bring CNN’s All Access subscription to Prime Video, adding yet another option to the wide selection of subscriptions available to our customers all in one place.”

Subscribers will also receive full access to CNN’s digital properties, including CNN.com and the CNN app, using their Amazon credentials.

The launch comes as news organisations increasingly explore subscription-based digital models to diversify revenues beyond traditional television distribution. CNN has been steadily expanding All Access since its launch, positioning the service as a premium destination for live news, original documentaries and special event programming.

Upcoming content available to subscribers includes CNN’s coverage marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, including Independence Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen on July 3 and The Fourth in America on July 4.
