Broadband technology specialist Technetix has appointed media and communications executive Melissa Cogavin as a Non-Executive Consultant to its marketing team and as a member of the company’s Strategic Advisory Board.

Cogavin brings experience spanning media, film distribution, trade journalism and strategic marketing. She currently serves as Managing Editor of the UK SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals), where she oversees editorial strategy, marketing communications, events and industry partnerships.

Before joining the broadband sector, Cogavin held senior positions at Disney and Paramount Pictures, including Director of Film Operations, where she managed international theatrical distribution for a decade. She is also the founder of the Event Cinema Association, established in 2012 to promote collaboration and development across the rapidly growing event cinema sector.

In her new role, Cogavin will support the development of Technetix’s global marketing strategy, brand positioning and thought leadership activities, while providing strategic guidance on industry engagement and communications.

Paul Broadhurst, President, Founder and CEO of Technetix, said: “Melissa brings a unique combination of editorial excellence, marketing insight and deep industry connectivity. Her ability to shape narratives, build platforms and engage audiences will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the Technetix brand globally. I am delighted to welcome her to support both our marketing team and Strategic Advisory Board.”

Cogavin added: “Technetix has built an outstanding reputation for innovation and engineering excellence within the broadband industry. I am excited to work with the team to further amplify its voice, support its strategic marketing initiatives and contribute to its continued growth and global impact.”

The appointment comes as Technetix continues to expand its presence in global broadband markets, with the company focusing on next-generation network technologies and solutions designed to support operators’ migration towards higher-capacity broadband services.
