Argentina’s Personal has deployed Media Distillery’s Sports Engagement Suite to power an enhanced World Cup experience on its Flow streaming platform, automatically generating match highlights and supporting content for every game of the tournament.
The deployment gives Flow subscribers access to AI-generated video summaries of all 104 matches from the tournament, addressing the challenge of simultaneous fixtures and time zone differences that make it impossible for most fans to watch every game live.
Media Distillery’s Sports Engagement Suite analyses live broadcasts in real time, identifies key moments and automatically creates highlight packages between three and eight minutes long within minutes of the final whistle. The system also detects and tags related “shoulder content”, including player and coach interviews, studio analysis, press conferences and expert discussions.
The content is presented through a dedicated Mundial hub within the Flow platform, bringing together live matches, schedules, highlights and team-specific coverage in a single destination.
The project builds on Media Distillery’s growing presence in the sports streaming market. Earlier this year the Amsterdam-based company launched its Sports Engagement Suite as broadcasters and operators increasingly seek automated tools to maximise the value of live sports rights and improve viewer engagement beyond the live event itself.
Personal, formerly Telecom Argentina, said the platform was designed to serve both casual World Cup viewers looking for quick highlights and dedicated football fans seeking deeper tournament coverage across all matches.
“Football tournaments like the World Cup are big entertainment events, and Flow needs to rise to the occasion,” said Silvana Cataldo, Director of Entertainment and Brand Marketing at Personal.
“It’s not just about having the content; it’s about ensuring that when millions of users want to watch a match, the platform is solid, fast, and gives them everything they need at hand for a personalised experience.”
Media Distillery CEO Roland Sars said the deployment reflected changing viewer expectations around sports content.
“Personal took a clear-eyed view of what subscribers expect from a streaming service for sports today: not just access to the game, but everything around it. On demand, available fast, on any screen,” he said.
“The Sports Engagement Suite turns sports content into real fan engagement, before, during, and after the event, keeping viewers hooked on the platform.”
The implementation reaches approximately two million Flow users in Argentina and represents Media Distillery’s latest high-profile sports deployment. The company has increasingly focused on AI-powered content discovery and automated clipping technologies, helping operators create additional value from premium sports rights.
Personal said the infrastructure will remain in place after the World Cup and will be used for future sports tournaments and domestic league coverage, extending the return on investment beyond the current event.
