German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland is to carry AXN Black HD and AXN White HD across Germany, Austria and Switzerland from 1 July 2026, marking the channels’ return to the platform a decade.

The two channels, operated by Munich-based media company High View, will be included in Sky’s Entertainment package and in the WOW Filme & Serien subscription at no additional cost.

High View acquired the former Sony-operated AXN and Sony Channel in 2023 and rebranded them. AXN had been part of Sky’s channel line-up for an extended period under Sony ownership before disappearing from the platform in October 2016, when Sony chose to concentrate on its own direct channels. The Sony Channel predecessor to AXN White, Sony Entertainment Television, was never carried by Sky.

The deal adds more than 50 international series to Sky’s portfolio, which has contracted following the end of its long-running content partnership with HBO. Titles available across the two channels include US series “Chicago P.D.” and “Yellowstone”, Irish crime drama “Kin” starring Charlie Cox, Jane Austen adaptation “Sanditon”, “Murdoch Mysteries”, and “Bookish”, written by and starring Emmy winner Mark Gatiss. Acclaimed drama series “Gomorrah” and “Damages” round out a catalogue that also includes more than 1,000 on-demand titles alongside regular series premieres.

AXN Black focuses on US action and crime series, while AXN White concentrates on award-winning dramas and literary adaptations. Both channels broadcast in HD, with dual-track audio and no advertising breaks. High View operates more than 30 channel brands across music, fiction and factual genres, and also distributes its channels via Vodafone, MagentaTV, waipu.tv, PŸUR and Amazon Prime Video.
