Members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have re-elected Delphine Ernotte Cunci as President and Cilla Benkö as Vice-President, extending their leadership of the organisation representing public service media across Europe.

Ernotte Cunci has led France Télévisions since 2015 and has served as EBU President since October 2020. Before joining the French public broadcaster, she spent 26 years at Orange, including four years as CEO of Orange France.

“I would like to thank the Members very much for their renewed trust,” said Ernotte Cunci. “I am honoured to take on this mandate as President of the EBU at a time when public service media is under attack, and our Union and solidarity are even more valuable to each of us.”

She added that the current geopolitical climate had made European sovereignty and the protection of citizens a priority, saying the EBU would continue to strengthen cooperation between members and provide high-quality coverage of global events.

Benkö has been CEO of Sveriges Radio since 2012 and has served on the EBU Executive Board since 2010. She was first elected Vice-President in November 2023.

“I am honoured to have been re-elected as Vice-President and look forward to continuing to work in close collaboration with Delphine and the EBU management team,” Benkö said. “These are transformative times for public service media, which is under pressure in many countries.”

EBU Director General Noel Curran congratulated both executives on their re-election and also welcomed Rhodri Talfan Davies, Yannis Papadopoulos and Susanne Wille as new members of the Executive Board.

The next election for Executive Board members will take place at the EBU General Assembly in December 2026.
