July 2nd should see a United Launch Alliance rocket place 29 Amazon Leo satellites into orbit. This will add to the more than 350 craft already in orbit for Amazon Leo.
The massive ULA Atlas V rocket (Flight LA-08) has been tested and the craft integrated into the rocket’s nose-cone. Lift off is scheduled for 12.24 am ET in the early hours of July 2nd subject to the usual weather and technical considerations. This will be the final Atlas V flight for Amazone. Launches will subsequently take place on the ULA Vulcan Centaur rockets starting in September.
This latest launch follows on from an Arianespace launch on June 17th which placed 36 satellites into orbit and a previous Atlas launch on May 29th which also handled 29 craft.
There are future Amazon Leo launches planned with ULA’s Atlas V as well as 10 contracted launches with SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket. There are 24 launches booked with Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket once it returns to work, likely towards the end of 2o26.
