Glance has launched the latest edition of its annual One TV Year in the World report, bringing audience data from more than 100 countries together in a new interactive dashboard on its OneGlance platform.
The report combines linear TV, broadcaster video-on-demand and streaming viewing data, offering what Glance describes as a more complete picture of global television consumption.
Among the key findings, average daily TV viewing fell by five minutes in 2025 to two hours and 13 minutes. Scripted programming remained the world’s most popular genre, with locally produced content dominating national charts. In the UK, Call the Midwife and Gavin & Stacey: A Fond Farewell topped the scripted rankings, while Watson and Tracker led in the United States.
Entertainment formats also remained resilient, with Dancing with the Stars topping the ratings in ten countries and The Masked Singer appearing in the top rankings of nine markets. Live sport continued to attract huge audiences, with the Super Bowl reaching a record 130 million viewers in the US after also being streamed on Tubi.
Glance says the report also reflects the impact of global events, with news channels gaining audience share across Europe as viewers sought trusted factual coverage. For the first time, the report also includes a “Total Video” section comparing broadcasters and streaming platforms across different markets.
