Rakuten TV launches Barbie and Pingu FAST channels

Rakuten TV has expanded its partnership with Mattel by launching two new free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channels across Europe.

The new channels are Barbie & Friends, featuring content from Barbie alongside franchises including Monster High, Enchantimals and Polly Pocket, and a dedicated Pingu channel showing the complete series.

Barbie & Friends is available in the UK, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal, while Pingu has launched in France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

The move builds on an agreement announced last year that brought Mattel content to Rakuten TV’s family streaming offering. Rakuten TV will now programme and distribute the channels itself, strengthening its FAST portfolio and providing additional family content for viewers and distribution partners across Europe.
