Warner Bros. Discovery is promising its most ambitious multi-sport streaming experience yet as TNT Sports prepares to deliver exclusive live coverage of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games across HBO Max.

For the first time, every event from the Games will stream live on all HBO Max subscription plans in the UK and Ireland, supported by a suite of interactive features designed to help viewers follow multiple competitions simultaneously.

The Commonwealth Games is within Group B of Ofcom’s listed events, with the free-to-air Channel 5 providing highlights. Glasgow 2026 will be the first edition since 1954 not to have the BBC as the UK live broadcaster.

Among the new features is Multiview, allowing fans to watch up to four live events on a single screen and switch seamlessly between them. In-Player Alerts will notify viewers when medal events or other key moments are taking place elsewhere, while Key Moments enables users to jump directly to decisive moments in replays and live coverage.

TNT Sports will also launch a dedicated Commonwealth Games 360 channel, available on both linear television and HBO Max. Broadcasting daily from 08:30 to 22:30, the channel will move between venues with live studio coverage, athlete interviews and analysis designed to ensure viewers never miss a major story from the Games.

Scott Young, EVP at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, said the broadcaster was applying the experience gained from its Olympic coverage to another major multi-sport event.

“Glasgow 2026 represents a landmark moment for TNT Sports as we bring the full scale of our storytelling, production expertise and multi-platform innovation to one of the world’s most celebrated sporting events. Our ambition is simple: to deliver the most comprehensive Commonwealth Games experience ever seen in the UK and Ireland.

“With every event live on HBO Max, world class analysis from our unrivalled roster of champions and a digital offer built for modern sport fans, we are incredibly proud to showcase the athletes, the stories and the spirit of these Games in a way TNT Sports has become known for.”

More than 600 hours of live coverage will be available between July 23 and August 2, with every competition streamed live on HBO Max. Traditional event coverage will be carried on TNT Sports 3 and 4, while the Opening Ceremony will be shown live across TNT Sports and HBO Max on July 23. Daily highlights will also air free-to-air on 5.

Warner Bros. Discovery has assembled a presentation team featuring more than 165 major championship gold medals. Sir Chris Hoy, Dame Sarah Storey, Beth Tweddle, Rhys McClenaghan, Ellie Simmonds, Michael Jamieson, Eilidh Doyle, Jonnie Peacock and Jess Thirlby are among the former champions providing analysis, with Radzi Chinyanganya, Emma Dodds and Becky Ives presenting the coverage.

The Commonwealth Games represents the latest major sporting event to benefit from HBO Max’s growing interactive streaming features, following similar enhancements introduced for cycling, tennis and the Olympic Winter Games, as Warner Bros. Discovery continues to position the platform as a premium destination for live sport.
