CANAL+ has secured exclusive rights to Spain’s top-flight football league in Poland after agreeing a new five-year deal with LALIGA.

The agreement covers the 2026/27 to 2030/31 seasons and gives CANAL+ exclusive rights to every LALIGA EA SPORTS match across its linear channels and streaming platform.

The deal strengthens CANAL+‘s premium football portfolio in Poland, which already includes the UEFA Champions League, the Polish Ekstraklasa and the Premier League. It also extends the broadcaster’s long-standing relationship with LALIGA, having previously shared coverage of the competition.

The agreement comes just days after Disney+ announced it had secured exclusive LALIGA rights in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland, underlining the continued value of Europe’s leading domestic football leagues as broadcasters and streaming platforms compete for premium sports rights.

Edyta Sadowska, President and CEO of CANAL+ Polska, said: “Our goal is to further strengthen the position of CANAL+ as the first choice for sports fans. We consistently invest in developing our sports offering, focusing on high-quality competitions and delivering the best sporting emotions to viewers. Acquiring the rights to broadcast every LALIGA match is another example of that strategy.”

Rebeca Díaz, Global Media Rights Director at LALIGA, said CANAL+’s experience in sports broadcasting made it the right long-term partner.

“CANAL+ has extensive experience in premium sports broadcasts and deeply understands the Polish market. This new direct agreement reflects our trust in CANAL+ as the right partner to further develop LALIGA EA SPORTS in Poland, offering fans comprehensive coverage, high production quality and engaging storytelling around the competition.”

The new rights package includes every fixture from the Spanish top flight, including El Clásico, the Madrid derby and matches featuring clubs such as Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid.

CANAL+ will also revive its dedicated Spanish football magazine Hola LALIGA!, while promising additional programming and original formats ahead of the new season, which begins on 14 August.

The rights will be included within the broadcaster’s new CANAL+ ULTRA package, available to both traditional television subscribers and users of its streaming service.
