Free streaming network wedotv has signed its first distribution agreement with TiVo, bringing a portfolio of FAST Channels to TiVo-powered connected TV and automotive platforms across Europe.
The rollout, which begins today, will make eight of wedotv’s FAST Channels available through TiVo Channels, the free streaming service integrated into the TiVo OS interface. In addition, the wedotv streaming app will become available on TiVo-powered smart TVs, streaming devices and in-car entertainment platforms in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
The launch will take place in two phases, with the initial rollout tailored to individual markets. wedotv Movies will debut in the UK, Germany and Italy, while UK viewers will also gain access to wedotv Big Stories and wedotv: Legacy, a dedicated channel built around the long-running South African drama series Legacy.
In Germany, TiVo users will receive wedotv True Stories and wedotv Sports, while French audiences will gain wedotv Cars. Spain will see the launch of wedotv Amor, a channel dedicated to telenovelas. France, Italy and Spain will also receive time2Rlx, wedotv’s ambient relaxation channel featuring scenic imagery and calming soundtracks.
Further wedotv channels are scheduled to launch across TiVo-powered platforms in all five markets later this summer.
The agreement marks a further expansion of wedotv’s European distribution strategy, extending the reach of its FAST Channel portfolio to TiVo’s connected TV ecosystem as well as its in-car entertainment offering through the DTS AutoStage Video Service, which is used by several automotive manufacturers.
