France’s media regulator Arcom has issued its third formal notice of 2026 to Bolloré-owned news channel CNews, ruling that a report about Paris mayoral candidate Rachida Dati, broadcast just two days before March’s municipal election run-off, breached requirements for honesty and editorial restraint.

The action follows a June ruling ordering CNews to improve political pluralism after regulators found a persistent imbalance in the range of opinions on air, and an earlier warning over the channel’s coverage of the Gaza conflict.

CNews remains the most sanctioned television broadcaster in France.
