Redge Technologies has launched three FAST channels for KAN, Israel’s public broadcaster, extending the companies’ existing OTT technology partnership.
The channels are being introduced under the KAN BOX brand and will be distributed on connected TV platforms including Apple TV, Android TV and smart TVs. They will run initially for one year.
The line-up includes a World Cup channel combining live match coverage with related on-demand content. It is scheduled to run for one month before being replaced by a music channel featuring songs and live performances.
An Archive channel will turn KAN’s VOD library into a scheduled linear service, while a Comedy channel will be built around Kupa Rashit, giving viewers a continuous themed feed of the series and related content.
The channels are powered by Redge’s MediaTool, which manages content workflows for the launch. Metadata is drawn from KAN’s back-office system, while source files are taken from its digital asset management platform. KAN operators can select series or individual VOD titles for delivery to MediaTool, allowing the broadcaster to create FAST channels without rebuilding playlists or metadata manually.
The project follows Redge’s earlier delivery of a service delivery platform for KAN’s apps and supports the broadcaster’s expansion of live and event-driven streaming across connected devices.
