Disney+ expands language support

Disney+ has expanded its language support as the streamer continues to localise its service for international markets.
The platform is adding support for 17 further audio languages, taking the total number available on Disney+ to 58. The Disney+ user interface is now available in more than 30 languages, while subtitles and closed captions are offered in up to 42.
The latest expansion includes Arabic, Croatian, Hebrew, Thai, Indonesian, Malay, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, with availability across user interface, audio and timed text depending on the language.
Disney+ has also introduced a right-to-left interface for languages including Arabic and Hebrew, intended to make navigation more natural for viewers using those languages.
The update reflects the increasing importance of localisation to global streaming platforms, particularly as international originals travel beyond their domestic markets and services seek growth outside North America and Western Europe. Disney cited titles including Perfect Crown, Dear Killer Nannies, Battle of Fates and The Boss as examples of local originals reaching global audiences.
