Airties has appointed Stephen Howe, the former chief technology and information officer of Bell Canada, to its board of directors.
The Paris-based broadband software company has also named Michael Rezek as chief business development officer. Rezek joins from Cisco, where he was director of business development, and previously held senior business development and partnership roles at Accedian before its acquisition by Cisco in 2023.
Howe spent more than 25 years in Canadian telecoms, including senior roles at Bell Canada and TELUS Mobility. At Bell, he led network and technology services, covering fibre, wireless, satellite and media networks, as well as application development, infrastructure and cloud management.
Airties CEO and co-founder Metin Taskin said Howe brought experience from “large-scale deployments and innovations” at major telecoms operators, while Rezek’s background in partnerships would help the company extend the value it delivers to customers.
Airties provides AI-driven software used by ISPs to manage and improve home connectivity. Its platform is designed to help operators diagnose and resolve Wi-Fi and connected-home issues, improve customer experience and reduce churn.
Howe said: “Airties has an impeccable reputation for helping ISPs improve connectivity experiences through their AI-driven software and actionable insights for Tier-1 operators across the globe.”
Rezek said the company had “some of the richest connected-home intelligence anywhere in the industry” and added that he would focus on partnerships around more personalised, reliable and secure connectivity for homes, MDUs and small businesses.
