Sky adds free roaming for long-term customers

Sky is introducing free global roaming for its longest-serving mobile customers through Sky VIP.
From today, Sky VIP Diamond customers who have Sky Mobile will be able to use their UK data, calls and texts in 120 destinations at no extra cost. The Diamond tier is available to customers who have been with Sky for more than 15 years.
The benefit applies to existing Sky Mobile customers and Diamond customers who newly join Sky Mobile, across all data plans. Destinations include the EU and EEA, the US, Australia, India, Thailand, South Africa and China.
Sky says the roaming benefit activates automatically when eligible customers use 10MB of data or make a call or text to a UK number while in one of the covered destinations.
Ben Case, Managing Director of Connectivity at Sky, said: “We’re giving our longest-standing Sky customers free global roaming in 120 destinations with Sky Mobile – it’s another way we’re recognising loyalty with rewards that matter.”
The move follows Sky’s expansion of its roaming footprint earlier this year from 55 to 120 destinations. Other Sky Mobile customers can use Roaming Passport Plus, which allows them to use their UK allowances in the same 120 destinations for £2 a day.
Sky is also offering Diamond customers who do not yet have Sky Mobile an unlimited data SIM for £10 a month on a 12-month contract.
