DMC Production Germany has completed a major production project for MagentaTV’s coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026, delivering more than 1,000 hours of live programming in UHD, HDR and Dolby Atmos on behalf of thinXpool TV.

The production company acted as technical service provider and studio partner for MagentaTV as part of the broadcaster’s tournament coverage. thinXpool TV served as editorial and production lead contractor for the project.

At the centre of the production setup was the MagentaTV World Cup Studio in Munich, a multifunctional production environment designed for flexible live operations throughout the tournament. The studio combined broadcast infrastructure with a loft-style design and served as the German production hub for the extensive coverage.

The production architecture connected several locations, including the main rooftop studio in New York, the Munich home-base studio and teams operating directly from World Cup stadiums across North America. This setup enabled the integration of live match coverage, analysis segments and on-site reporting with the central production operation in Germany.

Signal acquisition and delivery from the United States was provided by TV Skyline. Deutsche Telekom’s TV platform MagentaTV offered viewers three dedicated channels – TV1, TV2 and TV3 – allowing simultaneous programming from different studios and parallel commentary options.

A key technical challenge was managing the integration of multiple production environments and adapting workflows according to match requirements and broadcast formats. The infrastructure processed up to 65 individual signals per match across different production workflows, supported by extensive backup and disaster-recovery systems to ensure reliable tournament coverage.

DMC Production Germany was responsible for a wide range of broadcast operations, including the Master Control Room (MCR), playout, live production galleries, conference production, ingest, signal management, conversion centre operations, live audio production, as well as live, analysis and studio graphics.

The company also provided studio and control room technology, lighting systems, scenic construction and operational support for the daily studio production. Around 150 employees from DMC Production Germany were involved in the project throughout the tournament.

“The successful delivery of a production of this scale required the seamless integration of technology, workflows and teams,” said Dr Holger Enßlin, Managing Director of DMC Production Germany. “We are particularly proud that the different production environments were brought together into a single integrated production platform.”

DMC Production Germany was established at the end of 2025 through the merger and rebranding of Plazamedia and rt1.tv mobile production. Based in Ismaning near Munich, the company provides studio, live and mobile production services for broadcasters, streaming platforms, sports organisations and corporate customers.
