FTTH Council Europe rebrands as Fibre Council Europe

The FTTH Council Europe has rebranded as Fibre Council Europe, reflecting a broader remit that extends beyond fibre-to-the-home to encompass the wider fibre infrastructure underpinning Europe’s digital economy.
The organisation said the new identity reflects the growing role of fibre in supporting fixed and mobile networks, data centres and digital services, while maintaining its long-standing focus on accelerating fibre deployment across Europe.
Accompanying the change is a new tagline, “Powering Europe’s digital future”, together with a refreshed visual identity.
“This is an evolution, not a departure,” said Director General Vincent Garnier. “Everything our members and partners value about the Council – our advocacy, our research, our community – carries forward under the new name and the expanded scope.”
As part of the rebrand, the Council’s annual conference has also been renamed Fibre Horizons. The event, described as Europe’s largest gathering of the fibre industry, will take place in Milan on 17-18 March 2027 and will broaden its focus to include areas such as data centres and the transition from HFC to FTTH networks.
The organisation said its governance, membership and existing activities will remain unchanged, with the transition to the new branding taking place over the coming weeks as legacy branding and web domains are phased out.
The FTTH Council Europe was established more than two decades ago to promote fibre deployment across Europe and has become one of the industry’s leading advocacy and research bodies. The rebranding reflects the increasing importance of fibre as the foundation for next-generation connectivity, from gigabit broadband and 5G backhaul to AI workloads and cloud infrastructure.
