Amagi appoints Martin Wacker to lead DACH & CEE expansion

Cloud broadcast and streaming technology provider Amagi has appointed Martin Wacker as Head of Sales for the DACH and CEE region as the company looks to strengthen its presence in one of Europe’s largest media markets.

Based in Hamburg, Wacker will be responsible for driving Amagi’s growth across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Central and Eastern Europe, working with broadcasters, OTT platforms and content owners as they migrate to cloud-native broadcast infrastructure, FAST services and AI-powered media workflows.

The appointment comes as broadcasters across the region continue to increase investment in IP-based distribution and cloud technologies, areas that have become a key focus for Amagi’s expansion strategy in Europe.

Wacker joins the company with more than 20 years of experience in the broadcast, media and digital technology sectors. His career includes senior positions at German broadcasters RTL and kabel eins, alongside roles in film and post-production, advertising agencies and marketing technology companies. He has also founded three companies and helped establish two start-ups in the European market.

In his new position, Wacker will focus on expanding Amagi’s customer base among broadcasters, OTT providers and content owners, supporting their transition to cloud-based operations while helping them develop new distribution and monetisation opportunities across connected TV platforms.
