Telenet-owned Play Sports has acquired the exclusive Dutch-language television rights to the Croky Cup, Belgium’s domestic knockout football cup competition, for the next four seasons.

The deal strengthens Play Sports’ football portfolio, which already includes the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga and Formula 1 alongside a range of competitions carried through its partnership with DAZN.

The Croky Cup features clubs from across the Belgian football pyramid, with the country’s top-flight sides entering in the later rounds. Play Sports said it will begin its coverage from the round of 32 in October.

Telenet also confirmed a renewed partnership with DAZN, allowing subscribers to continue accessing competitions including the Belgian Pro League, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, the NBA and NFL through DAZN channels integrated into the Play Sports offering.

To mark the start of the new football season, all Telenet TV customers will be able to watch the Belgian Super Cup free of charge via the DAZN Pro League 1 channel.

The announcement comes as Play Sports launches what it describes as its most comprehensive sports line-up to date, bringing together domestic and international football, Formula 1, MotoGP, tennis, golf, cyclo-cross and a range of other sports across its linear and streaming packages.
