Under a new non-exclusive agreement with the European Broadcasting Union, every event from the championships will stream live and on demand on HBO Max, alongside television coverage on Eurosport 1 across Europe (excluding the Nordics and Poland) and TNT Sports 3 in the UK and Ireland.

Coverage runs from 10-16 August and marks the first time every event from the championships will be available on HBO Max. Warner Bros. Discovery will also deploy interactive features including Multiview, allowing viewers to watch up to four live events simultaneously, and Key Moments, which lets users jump directly to decisive moments in races and field events.

The deal continues Warner Bros. Discovery’s strategy of building HBO Max into a premium destination for live sport. Athletics was the company’s most-watched sport during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and the broadcaster has since expanded its portfolio with coverage of the 2025 World Athletics Championships, the 2026 Commonwealth Games and, from 2028, every athletics event at the Los Angeles Olympics under its long-term Olympic rights agreement.

Trojan Paillot, Senior Vice President of Rights, Syndication and Commercial Development at WBD Sports Europe, said the company aimed to deliver “the most immersive coverage of a European Athletics Championships ever” by combining comprehensive live coverage with enhanced streaming features.

The championships, being staged in Birmingham from 10-16 August, will feature more than 1,600 athletes from 48 nations competing across 50 medal events.
