Virgin Media O2 has added Tennis Channel to its streaming channel line-up for Virgin TV 360 and Flex customers.
The 24-hour service is available on channel 542 at no additional charge. It is integrated into Virgin Media’s electronic programme guide and can be found using voice search.
Live coverage will include the Davis Cup, Billie Jean King Cup, United Cup and Hopman Cup, alongside 35 ATP Challenger Tour events between January and November. Coverage begins on 18 August.
Tennis Channel also holds rights to Ultimate Tennis Showdown events in Guadalajara, Nîmes, Hong Kong and London, and a set of British grass-court tournaments. These include the men’s and women’s events at Queen’s, Birmingham, Ilkley, Nottingham and Eastbourne.
Its schedule will be supplemented by interviews, player profiles, magazine programmes, highlights and archive matches from tournaments including the Australian Open and US Open.
“Tennis continues to captivate audiences around the world, and this new streaming channel gives our customers even more ways to stay connected to the sport they love,” said Richard Vivian, director of programming and value-added services at Virgin Media O2.
The channel joins around 40 streamed services on Virgin TV, including British Screen Classics, Inside Crime and U&Transport. Virgin Media recently added Robot Wars, Demand Drama, River Monsters and The Hotel Inspector to the line-up.
