Zattoo adds four new FAST Channels in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

TV streaming provider Zattoo has expanded its FAST Channel line-up with four new services covering medical dramas, home and garden, teen fantasy and anime.

The new channels – Herzfrequenz, ZDF zu Hause, H2O & Friends and AKIBA ANIME – are now available to Zattoo users in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. According to Zattoo, the additions are designed to broaden its FAST offering with more specialised programming.

Herzfrequenz, operated by HIGH VIEW, focuses on medical dramas and features series including Der Landarzt, Dr. Klein, Freunde fürs Leben, Herzflimmern – Die Klinik am See, Frauenarzt Dr. Markus Merthin and Sibel & Max. The channel launches with eight series, 40 seasons and more than 600 episodes from the ZDF Studios catalogue, with new episodes to be added regularly.

ZDF zu Hause targets viewers interested in home improvement, gardening and property. Its line-up includes Duell der Gartenprofis, Mein Zuhause richtig schön, Die Immohelden, Kaputt und Zugenäht, Mein fabelhaftes Ferienhaus, Du ahnst es nicht! and Garden Dreams. According to Zattoo, the channel starts with 259 episodes providing more than 150 hours of programming.

H2O & Friends brings together teen, fantasy and coming-of-age series. Its line-up includes H2O – Plötzlich Meerjungfrau, Mako – Einfach Meerjungfrau, Dance Academy, Wolfblood, Heirs of the Night, Lightning Point, The Elephant Princess and the animated series H2O – Abenteuer Meerjungfrau. The channel launches with 367 half-hour episodes.

PLAION PICTURES is acting as strategic and operational partner for ZDF zu Hause and H2O & Friends, covering channel management, distribution and marketing. The two channels extend the availability of established ZDF brands in the FAST market.

The fourth addition, AKIBA ANIME, targets both established anime fans and newcomers. The Mainstream Media AG-operated channel features series spanning action, adventure, fantasy, sport, comedy and drama, including Demon Slayer, Sword Art Online, Assassination Classroom, Beelzebub, Haikyu!!, Free!, Kenichi and The Knight in the Area. The channel launches with around 450 episodes, all available in German dubbing.
