BCE has appointed Henry Alexander as sales director as the Luxembourg-based media services company looks to expand its international business.
Alexander will lead BCE’s commercial organisation and oversee sales of its professional services, media applications, infrastructure, managed services and Media-as-a-Service products.
He has more than 25 years’ experience in broadcasting and media technology, including positions with EVS, Belgian public broadcaster RTBF, Mediapro Belgium and SDNsquare, which is now part of Riedel Communications.
His previous work has covered live production, IP infrastructure, cloud technology, managed services and digital transformation.
“Organisations expect more than a technology provider. They need a trusted partner who understands their business challenges, shares their ambitions and supports them throughout their transformation journey,” Alexander said.
BCE chief operating officer Frédéric Fiévez said Alexander would be responsible for developing international sales, customer relationships and the company’s commercial team across EMEA.
The appointment comes as BCE expands its Media-as-a-Service strategy, combining media applications with hybrid and sovereign cloud infrastructure. The company recently demonstrated a European sovereign media workflow developed with Ateme and Scaleway.
BCE, part of RTL Group, provides production, playout, distribution, systems integration and managed technology services to broadcasters, content owners and sports organisations.
