Italy’s Lega Serie A has suspended the official broadcast feeds for Serie A Enilive and the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa to Albanian media group Tring, citing severe breaches of territorial exclusivity.

The move comes after the streaming service was found to be accessible to subscribers in Italy, where local broadcasting rights command hundreds of millions of euros annually.

The Italian football league stated that signals will remain blocked until Tring provides concrete guarantees to prevent its service from leaking into the Italian market. Current contract terms strictly prohibit signal overspill and mandate strict OTT geolocation restricted solely to Albania.

Tring—which legally acquired broadcast rights for the Albanian territory—recently merged its sports portfolio with rival platform DigitAlb, bundling major properties including Serie A, the UEFA Champions League, the Bundesliga, the NBA, and MotoGP.

Despite doubling its annual fee to approximately €250 (€20 per month), the platform offers a drastically cheaper alternative to domestic options such as DAZN, even offering Italian-language commentary for major fixtures.

Italian domestic football rights generate roughly €900 million per season—including €700 million from lead partner DAZN—making cross-border overspill a significant commercial threat.

Tring previously argued that unblocked access was intended to accommodate Albanian expats living abroad.

The breach also affects UEFA Champions League coverage, prompting involvement from European football’s governing body to protect local rights holders such as Sky Italia.
