LG Uplus is bringing real‑time television into the car, announcing that its Live TV+ streaming service will be installed in Mercedes‑Benz Korea’s newest model, the New S‑Class.
The move marks one of the most advanced in‑vehicle media deployments yet in the Korean market, giving passengers access to 28 live broadcast channels while on the road.
Live TV+ delivers news, entertainment, music, golf and children’s programming over an in‑vehicle wireless connection rather than traditional DMB. According to LG Uplus, this ensures uninterrupted viewing even in areas where broadcast reception typically fails, such as tunnels and underground parking garages. Passengers can tune in instantly without logging into an account.
The service also includes a dedicated Mercedes‑Benz channel featuring brand content, new‑model showcases and campaign videos. LG Uplus plans to expand Live TV+ to additional Mercedes‑Benz models, deepening its role as the automaker’s official software partner for media services. The company will oversee development, content provision and ongoing operation.
Bae Jun‑hyung, head of the Mobility Business Task Force at LG Uplus, said the launch reflects the company’s ability to adapt its media technology to automotive environments. He added that LG Uplus intends to broaden cooperation with global car manufacturers and refine the service further so customers can enjoy a more convenient and differentiated in‑car media experience.
