Marquee TV is deepening its footprint in contemporary music through a new partnership with Qwest TV, the premium music streaming platform founded with the creative vision of Quincy Jones.
The collaboration, announced in London on 19 August 2026, will significantly expand Marquee TV’s catalogue with landmark jazz, soul, Afrobeat and global music performances.
Launching on 1 September 2026, the deal brings 50 acclaimed concert films and festival recordings to Marquee TV subscribers worldwide. The slate features performances from some of the most celebrated artists of the past decade, including Gregory Porter, Brad Mehldau, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Salif Keita, Femi Kuti, Youssou N’Dour, Kokoroko, Hiromi’s Sonicwonder and Robert Glasper. It also includes major ensemble showcases such as Tribute to Roy Ayers and the Quincy Jones: 85th Birthday Celebration.
The content is drawn from Europe’s leading jazz and global music festivals — Jazz à Vienne, Jazz in Marciac, Jazz à la Villette, Nancy Jazz Pulsations, Moods Zurich and the Philharmonie de Paris — marking one of the most substantial music expansions in Marquee TV’s history. The platform, traditionally known for dance, opera, theatre and classical programming, is positioning itself as a broader cultural destination that connects performing arts with contemporary global sounds.
Edward Humphrey, CEO of Marquee TV, said the partnership reflects audience demand for a richer music offering: “Our audiences have long demonstrated a passion for jazz and global music, and Qwest TV offers an extraordinary catalogue that complements our existing programming beautifully. Together, we’re creating a cultural destination that connects classical music, jazz, global traditions and contemporary artistic expression.”
Qwest TV CEO Reza Ackbaraly said the collaboration aligns with the platform’s mission to make high‑quality music accessible worldwide: “We are very happy and proud to partner with Marquee TV. From legendary jazz performances and soul icons to groundbreaking artists from all over the world, our content perfectly complements Marquee TV’s brilliant performing arts offer.”
The partnership strengthens Marquee TV’s position as a home for premium music and performance content, while giving Qwest TV a powerful new global distribution channel.
