Deutsche Telekom has extended its media partnership with the German Basketball Federation (DBB) for a further four years, keeping the agreement in place until the end of 2029.

The partnership, which dates back to 2018, gives MagentaTV and MagentaSport exclusive media rights to the DBB national teams’ friendly and preparation matches in Germany, as well as selected games involving the DBB Supercup. The matches will be broadcast live and free of charge on both platforms.

The agreement covers both the men’s and women’s national teams. Telekom will also have exclusive rights to produce behind-the-scenes content around the teams before and during major tournaments and matches. The additional footage is intended to provide viewers with insights into preparations, team life and the daily routines of the national players.

The renewed agreement comes as Germany’s national teams prepare for a busy period of international basketball. MagentaSport will show a women’s international against Turkey in Cologne on 27 August 2026 from 16:30 CEST, followed by the men’s World Cup qualifier against the Netherlands at 19:40 CEST. The men’s team will then face Poland in another World Cup qualifier on 30 August, with coverage starting at 14:30 CEST.

The partnership also forms part of Telekom’s broader basketball offering. MagentaTV and MagentaSport carry the men’s, women’s and youth FIBA World and European Championships, qualifying matches, all EuroLeague games and German matches in the EuroCup, alongside other competitions.

The next major event on the schedule is the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, which begins on 4 September. The EuroLeague season follows later in September, with the EuroLeague Supercup scheduled from 24 September and the new season beginning on 29 September.
