CNBC UK adopts MediaKind’s Beam

CNBC UK has selected MediaKind’s Beam to overhaul its live news contribution and distribution workflows, bringing low‑latency performance, resilient processing and cloud‑connected control to its broadcast infrastructure.
The upgrade will allow the network to move live news feeds more reliably between bureaus, studios and downstream production environments across multiple geographic locations.
Neil Burt, Senior Director of Technical Operations EMEA at CNBC UK, said the new architecture is built around three priorities: low latency, resiliency and channel density. He added that Beam will give operational teams greater visibility and control across distributed systems — a critical requirement for a global news organization.
Beam introduces a more flexible software model that decouples processing licenses from individual servers, allowing CNBC UK to deploy commercial‑off‑the‑shelf hardware tailored to each site. The platform also provides secure cloud connectivity for centralized monitoring and management, forming a modern foundation for evolving broadcast, contribution and streaming workflows.
Tony Berthaud, SVP Sales for EMEA & APAC at MediaKind, said Beam reflects how video infrastructure is shifting toward cloud‑connected software paired with high‑performance media processing at the edge. “CNBC UK can modernize a proven contribution and distribution environment while gaining the flexibility and control required for today’s distributed video operations,” he noted.
MediaKind will showcase Beam and its broader cloud‑connected portfolio at IBC2026 in Amsterdam, at stand 1.D71.
