Chateau Meiland,
Netflix has agreed its first content partnership with Talpa, bringing a selection of programmes from the Dutch broadcaster’s SBS6 catalogue to the streaming service in the Netherlands.

The agreement covers more than 300 episodes of established Dutch reality and factual entertainment formats.

Titles include family reality series Chateau Meiland, Het Roer Om and its follow-up Het Roer Om: Hoe Is Het Nu Met?, alongside workplace reality series Overtreders.

Mr Frank Visser Doet Uitspraak, Waar Is Mijn Erfenis? and Bureau Onrecht will also be added to Netflix. The companies have not disclosed the duration or financial terms of the licensing agreement.

Marloes Sturkenboom, managing director, group content and global IP at Talpa, said viewing was no longer concentrated on a single platform.

“Through our collaboration with Netflix, we’re giving some of our strongest SBS6 titles another platform and the opportunity to reach new audiences,” she said.

Lucy Leveugle, vice-president, EMEA creative strategy and Benelux content at Netflix, described Talpa as one of the driving forces behind Dutch unscripted programming.

The acquired SBS6 shows will be offered alongside Netflix’s locally produced Dutch programming. Its forthcoming slate includes De Eetclub, which premieres on 10 September, and a Dutch adaptation of Love Is Blind. Existing local titles include Haantjes and Yolanthe.
