Lightning International, a specialist in content and entertainment distribution, has partnered with REMOW, a powerhouse in Japanese entertainment distribution and production, to launch Samurai vs Ninja, a 24/7 FAST channel dedicated to Samurai and Ninja content, on Samsung TV Plus SE Asia.

For centuries, Samurai and Ninja have stood as two of the most enduring symbols of Japanese history and culture. In recent years, the genre has experienced a surge in global popularity. From the Emmy record‑breaking success of the TV series Shōgun and Song of the Samurai, audiences around the world are captivated by the flash of swords, and the artistry of martial traditions. Samurai vs Ninja is born to meet this demand, offering audiences a free window into the very best of the genre. The channel brings together the action, drama, and tradition that have appealed to many and will continue to win over more fans.

Produced in partnership with the Samurai Drama Channel (operated by Nihon Eiga Broadcasting Corp.), Samurai vs Ninja offers over 1,000 hours of library content, including 70+ series and 200 movies – from timeless classics to contemporary hits, with legendary actors including Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe and Cannes Best Actor winner Koji Yakusho.

The latest addition to the lineup is feature film Ninja Wars: Blackfox vs Shogun’s Ninja, following its limited theatrical release in Japan in May. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Koichi Sakamoto.

James Ross, CEO of Lightning International, commented: “Lightning is proud to join REMOW in our mission to bring Asian entertainment to a global audience. With our long-time partnership with Samsung TV Plus, we are excited to introduce a new generation to the richness of Japanese storytelling and tradition – from the tales of samurai and ninja.”

Masayuki Sano, Executive Vice President of REMOW, added: “We are thrilled to bring the Samurai vs Ninja channel to Samsung TV Plus viewers across the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore for free. Samurai and ninja culture represents the pinnacle of traditional Japanese storytelling, and we are excited to deliver this rich entertainment to both long-time period drama fans and a brand-new generation of viewers.”
