BBC Studios and its wholly owned subsidiary UKTV have selected German media services provider Full Season to provide playout and distribution services for 53 linear channels and their associated video-on-demand (VOD) offerings.
The multi-year agreement covers end-to-end services including content preparation, playout, VOD workflows and channel delivery to multiple collection points. The services will support the onward distribution of BBC Studios and UKTV content in the UK and international markets.
The network was previously with Red Bee Media.
Full Season will manage the operational workflows for the channels and VOD services using its multi-site infrastructure and media technology platform. The agreement is intended to provide reliable delivery across both linear and on-demand platforms, according to the company.
“Seamless, high-quality, and resilient service delivery was a key priority for us. Full Season’s robust infrastructure and proven operational expertise gave us confidence in their ability to support our evolving Global Channels & Streaming business and deliver the reliability our audiences and partners expect,” said Tim Bertioli, Director of Media Services at UKTV and SVP Channel Technology at BBC Studios.
Alexander Neemann, Head of Sales at Full Season, added: “We are delighted to support BBC Studios and UKTV with the operational excellence and service quality they require. By combining innovative technology with resilient operations, we are committed to delivering reliable, future-ready media services that enable BBCS and UKTV to serve audiences and partners today and as their needs evolve.”
