Clipsource targets security gap in promotional workflows

Clipsource is set to introduce new service Partner Upload at IBC2026, providing broadcasters and streaming services with a more secure way to receive promotional assets from external partners.

The company says trailers, stills and key art are often still exchanged using email, shared drives and open links, despite finished programmes typically being transferred through controlled delivery systems.

Partner Upload allows broadcasters, streaming services and entertainment companies to invite production companies, agencies, photographers and other suppliers to upload promotional material directly into a controlled press environment.

Customers can manage which partners have access and where they can upload. Files are encrypted in transit, processed automatically and delivered into the customer’s workflow, with administrators notified when new material arrives.

Clipsource says access can be withdrawn at any time, preventing unreleased content from remaining indefinitely available through external links. The system also removes the need to download material received through email or file-sharing services before manually uploading it into another platform.

Johan Wiklund, Chief Product Officer at Clipsource, said complicated delivery processes can encourage users to prioritise convenience over security.

He added that the aim is to make secure collaboration between media companies and external partners as simple as existing workarounds, while giving customers greater control over where promotional content is stored and who can access it.
