German fibre operator Deutsche GigaNetz has launched a new generation of its MyTV IPTV service in partnership with Austrian IPTV provider Ocilion.

The updated offering combines live television, time-shifted TV, streaming apps, media libraries and video-on-demand through a new user interface and set-top box.

The new service, available from 8 September 2026, uses Ocilion’s UI6 interface and P610 set-top box. Deutsche GigaNetz is also using Ocilion’s white-label platform to customise the interface and apps with its own branding.

The new platform includes content discovery features, voice search and options for Deutsche GigaNetz to promote additional services directly through the television interface. According to the companies, the P610 and UI6 are designed to bring traditional television and streaming services together on a single platform.

“With the new generation of MyTV, we are making our entertainment offering even more attractive and create a state-of-the-art television experience for our fibre customers. We are combining television and streaming with simple operation and a well-designed user experience, all under our own brand,” said Reinhard Sauer, CEO of Deutsche GigaNetz.

A key change is the expansion of MyTV to third-party internet connections. Deutsche GigaNetz can now offer the IPTV service over-the-top (OTT), allowing households to use MyTV before the company’s own fibre-to-the-home connection has been built.

This enables Deutsche GigaNetz to begin providing and monetising its TV service at an earlier stage of the customer relationship. It also creates additional opportunities for customer communication and marketing ahead of the installation of the fibre connection.

For the OTT distribution model, Ocilion provides the technical infrastructure as well as additional rights for the distribution of TV channels, including time-shifted functions.

“With the introduction of UI6 and the P610, Deutsche GigaNetz is opting for our latest IPTV generation,” said Hans Kühberger, Managing Director of Ocilion. “We were able to work closely with the product management team on implementing the new product strategy and jointly put together an optimal offering. The fast implementation shows how flexibly our platform can be adapted and customised to the product requirements and brand of a network operator.”
