Utrecht’s Apple Museum will bring a selection of historic and current Apple hardware to IBC2026, highlighting the company’s role in the development of desktop video production, mobile content creation and spatial computing.
The exhibition, “From desktop to pocket – and beyond the screen”, will be staged in Future Tech, Hall 14, from 11-14 September.
The collection includes a Macintosh IIfx representing early Avid/1 editing systems, a Power Mac G3 associated with the arrival of Final Cut Pro, and an iMac DV. Contemporary technology includes Apple Creator Studio running on Mac Studio and iPad Pro, an iPhone 17 Pro Max and Apple Vision Pro.
Visitors will also be able to see an Apple II and the original 1984 Macintosh. The exhibits are drawn from the museum’s 2,000-square-metre collection in Utrecht, which is also offering special opening hours during IBC2026.
The museum’s appearance forms part of IBC’s Future Tech programme, which this year includes a new Future Tech Ignite Start-up Zone and Ignite Stage featuring more than 50 start-ups and emerging technology companies.
The wider Future Tech programme also includes the IBC Accelerator Media Innovation Programme, with projects involving broadcasters and media companies including Al Jazeera, Associated Press, Astro, BBC, Channel 4, DAZN, ITV, NBCUniversal and Sky. Projects cover areas including agentic AI for live sport, immersive experiences, next-generation streaming, 5G and accessibility.
The Apple Museum Foundation is an independent non-profit organisation and is not affiliated with Apple.
