German media company ProSiebenSat.1 has expanded its content licensing agreement with Paramount Global Content Licensing for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The deal gives the group’s free-to-air channels and streaming platform Joyn access to exclusive series premieres, library content, kids’ programming and films.
Among the series secured for first-run broadcasts are the third season of NCIS: Origins and, for the first time on Joyn, FBI: International. The agreement also brings 1,372 episodes of library series to Joyn, including Beverly Hills, 90210, Scorpion, The Good Wife, Bull, Diagnosis: Murder, Blue Bloods and Elementary.
The deal also includes 1,200 episodes of Nickelodeon content, featuring titles such as Victorious, Zoey 101, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Rugrats. In addition, 26 horror films will be available for Halloween, including titles from the Friday the 13th and Hellraiser franchises.
“The new content deal with Paramount Content Licensing offers our viewers a broad entertainment offering and contributes to all our business areas. We are also expanding our kids’ content on Joyn with 1,200 episodes. This allows us to distribute Paramount’s content optimally and in a targeted way across all platforms,” said Henrik Pabst, Chief Content Officer of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group.
Don McGregor, President of Global Content Licensing at Paramount, added: “This agreement reflects the strength and breadth of our content portfolio, which covers different genres and target groups. ProSiebenSat.1 has long been a valued partner, and we are pleased to deepen this collaboration with an agreement that spans multiple platforms and business areas. We are excited to see how our titles will resonate with audiences across the region.”
