Spanish media group Grup Mediapro will rebrand as Imagina from 1 January 2027 as it embarks on a new growth strategy following a major restructuring under Executive Chairman Sergio Oslé and Chief Executive Carlos Núñez.

The company said it expects EBITDA to increase by between 50% and 60% in 2026 compared with last year, alongside a return to positive cash flow. It also forecasts generating more than €100 million in free cash flow over the next three years, which will be reinvested in new projects.

The reorganisation, completed during 2026, has reshaped the business around four core divisions: audiovisual production services, content creation, sports rights management and Brands & Xperiences. The company said each business unit has been tasked with expanding internationally while focusing on delivering distinctive audiovisual and live experiences.

Mediapro said its production business continues to rank among the world’s leading broadcast services providers, producing more than 4,000 sporting events a year for organisations including FIFA, UEFA, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, FIBA and the NBA. The sports rights division will continue managing the international distribution of LaLiga rights in most global markets, alongside competitions including CONCACAF, World Skate and the EuroHockey League.

The company’s content division, which produces more than 120 film, television and entertainment projects annually, plans to strengthen its position in Spain while expanding across Spanish-speaking Latin America. Current clients include Netflix, Disney, Prime Video, HBO Max, Movistar Plus+ and RTVE.

Mediapro also plans to expand its Brands & Xperiences business, which develops exhibitions, museums and live events. On 21 September it will open Espai Imagina in Barcelona, a new immersive venue whose first exhibition, Codi Gaudí, will showcase digitally recreated designs for buildings Antoni Gaudí conceived but never built.

The company said reviving the Imagina name reflects a new phase in its development, combining its 30-year heritage with a strategy focused on international expansion, experiential entertainment and long-term financial sustainability.
