A group of 12 UK technology companies will join forces at IBC 2026 to demonstrate what they describe as the next generation of “Agentic AI” television, where TVs can understand requests, manage services and personalise experiences on behalf of viewers.
The initiative, led by RedSquid TV, combines technologies spanning artificial intelligence, voice recognition, content discovery, cybersecurity, subscription management, social TV and edge computing into a single operator-controlled television platform.
Rather than showcasing individual products, the companies will demonstrate how their technologies work together to create an intelligent TV platform capable of understanding user intent, discovering content, managing subscriptions and carrying out tasks through natural conversation.
The partners include Bango, ElevenLabs, Fetch.ai, Friend MTS, FX Digital, mvmnt, Ocean Blue Software, Sceenic, Synthesia, ThinkAnalytics, Voltaware and XMOS.
RedSquid TV says the approach offers operators an alternative to closed ecosystems developed by major technology companies, allowing them to retain control of customer relationships, branding and data while introducing AI-powered services.
The demonstration also explores wider applications beyond entertainment, including home energy management, health and wellbeing, AI-generated video assistants and shared viewing experiences.
Ceri Morgan, the UK’s Trade Commissioner for Europe, said the collaboration highlighted the depth of British innovation in artificial intelligence, media technology and software, demonstrating how an open technology ecosystem could strengthen Europe’s digital capabilities.
Trevor Neal, Founder and CEO of RedSquid TV, said the project represented Britain’s television AI ecosystem coming together to demonstrate how operators could deliver intelligent television experiences while remaining at the centre of the customer relationship.
The companies will present the integrated platform at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, showcasing how AI could transform television from a passive viewing device into an intelligent platform capable of reasoning, conversing and coordinating digital services on behalf of consumers.
