Nagravision partners with Microsoft to bring AI-powered anti-piracy intelligence to Azure

Nagravision has announced that its new NAGRA Venturi streaming security platform will integrate with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Foundry, using agentic AI to help broadcasters and streaming providers identify and prioritise the piracy threats causing the greatest commercial damage.
The partnership combines Nagravision’s anti-piracy intelligence with Microsoft’s AI infrastructure to analyse data from multiple sources, giving content owners greater visibility into organised piracy operations and helping them focus enforcement efforts on the threats posing the biggest risk to revenues, rights values and audience trust.
Nagra says the approach reflects the changing nature of streaming piracy, with criminal networks increasingly using automation and artificial intelligence to distribute illegal content at scale.
Morten Solbakken, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at NAGRAVISION, said: “As piracy becomes industrialised at scale and AI-driven, organisations need more than isolated tools. They need intelligence, visibility and coordinated action. Nagra Venturi brings those capabilities together to transform anti-piracy operations into measurable business outcomes.”
Simon Crownshaw, Chief Technology Officer and Head of Media and Entertainment Worldwide at Microsoft, added increasingly sophisticated piracy techniques mean access to actionable intelligence is becoming critical. He said the integration gives Azure customers improved visibility into piracy activity and helps them identify and address the highest-priority threats.
Nagra Venturi is designed to move anti-piracy from reactive enforcement towards intelligence-led decision making. Through Nagravision’s Nexus Anti-Piracy Centre, it combines monitoring, analytics, measurement and enforcement with device and platform security to provide a single view of piracy activity and support coordinated action against content theft.
